Investigation: profile the code behind the request
Mohsen profiled the website and traced the bottlenecks to inappropriate use of WordPress hooks in the existing code. He investigated when the actions ran to identify the work responsible for the delays.

He corrected the timing of the action calls responsible for the bottlenecks. After the change, the orders page loaded in approximately 3 seconds with 10 orders displayed, and he observed no further timeout errors.
What the result means
The reported load time decreased by 27 seconds, a 90% reduction for that screen. Mohsen also reported a 97% reduction in memory consumption in the profiling logs. This describes measured consumption, rather than a change to the configured PHP memory limit. The load-time result concerns the backend orders list; checkout speed and other pages were not measured in this account.
